The tree girl

Hello, diary people!

I'm so happy to see new names popping up on this mailing list! Since there are so many new people here, I wanted to let you all get to know me a little bit better<3

I'm 22 years old and was born and raised in Oslo, Norway. My real name is Johanna, but my parents started calling me Joa when I was three. I grew up with a forest as my backyard, so when I was little, I used to climb trees and sit up there for hours. My mom told me a while back that people in my neighborhood used to call me "the tree girl" because I would always sit in the same tree, humming melodies.

I did musical theatre for most of my childhood until I discovered songwriting at 14, after obsessing over Lady Gaga's album Joanne. Since then, I've fallen more and more in love with writing songs and creating this artist project. Now, two years into releasing music, I'm more excited about this project than ever!

And you guys are a big part of why doing this is so rewarding. The fact that we can connect across borders, ages and genders shows the power of music. It makes me feel like we're really just one big group of friends. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for letting my music be a part of your everyday lives!
